Doutorou-se em Direito em 2002 e obteve a Agregação em 2006, pela Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa, na especialidade Ciências Histórico-Jurídicas. Concluiu a Licenciatura em Direito em 1985, pela Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Foi Diretor da Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa entre 2010 e 2014. He completed his Law degree in 1985 at the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Lisbon from 2010 to 2014.
